Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you have any concerns regarding the safeguarding of any of our pupils please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads: Miss Harland, Mrs Hill or Mrs Dixon

History Around School
Children have the opportunity to learn about the past using our large scale timeline displayed around school. They gain the understanding of when it all happened, what happened at that time (the key events), how things developed or stayed the same (change and continuity) and the sequence of events.
How can we learn about the past?
We made a short video to remind children how we can be great historians; including some of the primary and secondary sources that can be used and how they can be evaluated.
World War 2 Workshop
Year 6 had a great opportunity to learn about World War 2 including experiencing role play using real life gas masks!
Remembrance
As a significant event in history, remembrance is celebrated by the whole school in our playground. Children from each year group lay their poppy wreath to show their respects. Followed by a poem and 2 minutes silence - we are very proud of those who served us.
Imperial War Museum North
Year 6 explored the impressive collection of objects used from the First World War to the present day. They saw the installation 'Poppies' and watched shows exploring the effects on war.
The Gunpowder Plot - Heywood Fire Station Visit
When learning about The Gunpowder Plot, Year 1 visited Heywood Fire Station. They had the opportunity to see the equipment firefighters use to keep everyone safe from fire.
