What have we been up to?

New Playground Markings

We met with Mrs Sarginson to choose and plan the new playground markings. These have now been installed and enjoyed by all the children.

Christmas Shop

Mrs Dixon helped us to organise a Christmas Novelty shop. We bought small , relatively cheap items like rubbers, pencils and balls. We made advertisement posters and visited classes each day for a week to sell them.

Mirrors for Bathrooms

Year 4 and Year 5 wanted new mirrors fitted in their new bathrooms. Mr Fox has now fitted these for us.

Year 6 and Reception Buddy lunch

Year 6 asked if they could have a shared lunch time with their reception buddies. Mrs Sarginson arranged this with the teachers and changed the lunchtime rota.

We have written and presented an assembly to the whole school to remind the children of who we are and what we do.

Another one of our requests was for more classroom resources like rubbers and pencil sharpeners, as children tell us they keep looing them. Mrs Sarginson asked us to go and meet with our link classes and think of ways we could look after equipment better and save money. She said the school cannot just keep buying things, children need to look after them better. we have since met with her again and offered to go round school every day after home time and turn off lights to save money. We also shared a list of ways each class has promised to look after things.

Afterschool Clubs

All of the children loved the Stay and Reconnect after school clubs the teachers ran for us in Autumn. Because of Covid we didn't have any after school clubs in spring term. We asked the teachers if they would run a variety of different clubs in the summer term. They agreed and very kindly offer lots of clubs for us including orienteering, sewing, singing, drama, athletics, netball, rounders, dance  - alongside lots of sports clubs run by Mr Beamish.
