Learning and News
Year 1 have had a great time learning how to sew and decorate their own hand puppets.
We had some special visitors in Class 3 this week.
We had super fun practising some life skills this week. We learnt how to set a table, how to cut up food with a knife and fork and then we washed the dishes!
This term we will be designing and making our own hand puppets. For our research we looked at lots of different types of puppets including finger puppets.
We have been learning about minibeasts - on our bug hunt we found - spiders, a ladybird and a snail!
We had so much fun on World Book Day!
In science, we found out which animals live in a rockpool, then we made our own rockpools.
Class 3 have written some amazing octopus fact files, they were inspired by our class story - Leo and the Octopus.
We had a fantastic time dressing up as rock stars for TT Rockstar day!!
We had a very exciting visitor this morning! Father Christmas read us a story and gave us all a present.
Class 3 had a fabulous time at their Christmas party, one of our children played us some Christmas songs on the piano!
Class 3 were fantastic in their nativity performance of 'Secret Angels'. Well done everyone!
Class 3 had a lovely time making Christmas crafts with family!
Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the fire station, we learnt all about staying safe and what skills we would need to become a fire fighter.
This week, the children have had a fantastic time learning about staying fit and healthy.
We have had a great time reading The Sea Saw, today we brought our own teddy bears in and read them a story.
We had a super time learning a special Diwali dance!
This week we have been learning about Bonfire Night, we tried some different foods that people eat.
In maths, we have been learning about part whole models, we practised writing matching number sentences.
In art, we have been learning about the artist Kandinsky. We painted pictures using bright colours just like he did,
We used VR goggles to look at the surface of the moon, this helped us with our writing linked to Sidney, Stella and the Moon.
This week in RE we have been learning about Shabbat, this is a special meal for Jewish people.
In science, we have been learning about our senses. We tasted different types of food.
We had a great time in Learning Together this week. We showed our families how we learn maths in Year 1
