At Hopwood CP School, we use Power Maths to support mathematics teaching. It is a DfE recommended programme, designed to spark curiosity, excitement and nurture confidence in maths.
Our Maths Passports help children to learn, recall and remember important maths facts.
Children in Year 4 have used paper cuttings to explore the properties of polygons.
Children enjoy using the clocks to develop their understanding of time.
Year 1 have used concrete representations to support their understanding of number sense before applying their skills in Power Maths books.
Children had practised and refined their times tables knowledge in preparation for our TT Rockstar day in which pupils dressed up as rock stars and went head to head in times table battles!
Children have developed their skills in selecting and using the most appropriate resource to support their learning in place value lessons.
All Y2 to Y6 children have their own TTRockstars login, Children are encouraged to go on and practise their times table facts at home. Every week our TTR winner is presented with a certificate in our Achievement Assembly.
