We were lucky to have a real scientist visit our school this week, and the children really threw themselves into the challenge. They explored a range of separation techniques, including sieving, filtration and examining mixtures, using indicators, chromatography, and even learning how a centrifuge works, all through hands-on practicals. They learned how these methods are used in the real world, including the separation of uranium-235 and uranium-238, which really captured their interest. It was a brilliant way to bring science to life and see their curiosity and problem-solving skills in action.
