Learning and News

Year 6 have used abacuses to represent percentages and equivalencies.

The road safety team visited Year 6 this week and we learned all about how to stay safe around HGVs. We sat in the driving seat and spoke about strategies to keep safe when walking near a road.

This week, Class 13 used the green screen and their Spanish skills to create their own weather report.

In History this week, Class 13 took part in a history workshop and learned about how people protected themselves using air raid shelters in Heywood.

Year 6 have taken part in a dissection lesson this week, using a lambs heart. They have explored features of the heart, how the circulatory system works as well as learning about how are veins, arteries and capillaries work.

To kick off our new history topic, Year 6 travelled to the Imperial War Museum in Salford and explored how the Second World War affected life in our area.

This week, Class 1 enjoyed making and debugging their DT games.

Class 13 delivered presentations on their knowledge in RE this week, focusing on the similarities and differences between Christian and Islamic architecture.

This week in Class 13, we have used the VR goggles to explore the features of Christian and Islamic architecture. We used our key knowledge to make comparisons.

In music this week, Year 6 created their own clapping sequences which kept to a pre-agreed beat. we explored musical notation and represented our beats with these.

Year 6 have used electrical components to test whether or not a circuit can be completed. We recapped our previous knowledge and put this to the test.
