Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.

Learning and News

We have had a very busy Life Skills Day!

We have practiced:

  • fastening buttons
  • getting dressed independently
  • finding something in our bags
  • finding the correct page in a book
  • putting things back correctly in the labelled pot

We loved Scootfit! We used our balancing skills to help us scoot to lots of music.

We have loved watching children present their PIPS about something they enjoy.

In Art, we have used our learnt skill of collaging to create paper mache.

TT Rockstars Day!

In History, we have enjoyed learning about toys from the 1950s.

As part of our paper topic in Art, the children created colourful patterns using tissue paper.

We enjoyed having visitors from Touchstones Museum showing us different toys from the past and we got to make some of our own toys too!

In Computing, we have been learning how to type and how to use capital letters on a keybaord.

Our Year 1 students loved learning how to keep their teeth healthy during a visit from the oral health nurses.

In DT, we have made our own Christmas themed mechanisms with levers and sliders.

We enjoyed our Life Skills morning. We learnt about First Aid kits, inhalers, how to apply a bandage and the recovery position.

In History, we have been acting out the Gunpowder Plot with Guy Fawkes and King James.

We enjoyed a visit from Freddy Fit and joining in with lots of fun and exercise.

In DT, we have been practising making a slider to move a rocket up and down.

In Maths, we have been finding out which 2D shapes can be printed from the faces of different 3D shapes.

In Geography, we have been learning map skills and followed a map to complete a treasure hunt.

We have been busy decorating recycled materials ready to make our own musical shakers.

We have been using Clicker to create an e-book for Cinderella in our computing lessons.

In maths, we have been using a number line to help us with our addition.

In Science, we went on a hunt around the school looking for objects made out of different materials.

In geography, we have been exploring Heywood using google earth and finding places we recognise.

We have been practicing counting backwards by jumping on our large number line.
