History Around School

Children have the opportunity to learn about the past using our large-scale timeline displayed around school. They gain an understanding of when it all happened, what happened at that time (the key events), how things developed or stayed the same (change and continuity) and the sequence of events.

We’ve had a fantastic term of history at Hopwood! We were lucky to welcome Touchstones, who delivered an exciting workshop all about the Ancient Egyptians. The children took part in lots of hands-on activities, including making their own cartouches and learning to write using hieroglyphics. What a brilliant way to bring history to life!
