A message for Year 5

A special visitor came to school today and left a message for our Year 5 children who are learning at home.

W/C 23rd November 2020

In Art we have been looking at 3D Pop Art and have studied the work of Charles Fazzino. We used the pop art theme to design our own bright, layered images.

W/C 16th November - Anti-Bullying Week 

We started this week with Odd Sock Day to celebrate the fact that everyone is different.  We spent time in the afternoon acting our scenarios and learnt more about how to deal with online bullying.

This week was Remembrance Day. We went outside to lay our class wreath and read 'Flanders Fields' before taking part in a two-minute silence.

Happy Half Term everyone! We loved our non uniform day on the last day of the half term.

We have been reading more of our class novel, "The Man Who Walked Between Two Towers'. One member of our class creatively replicated the front cover!

This week we learnt about the different phases of the moon. To help us to remember them, we each made a phases of the moon booklet.

We really enjoyed our bread tasting in DT this week. We tasted honey and sunflower bread, beetroot and raisin.

Our School Council elections took place this week. We nominated the person who we thought would be the best person for our class representative, then we all voted. This is our winner!

This week in computing we learned about Claude Chappe who invented the mechanical semaphore. We then used semaphore flags to encrypt messages.
