Learning and News

Our topic this half term is "What was it like when our grandparents were young?" We are going to be looking at what school was like, what they spent their pocket money on and what hobbies they enjoyed and compare it to us today! 




Class 3 enjoyed using thought bubbles to think about what the characters from our story 'The Odd Egg' were thinking!

Class 3 enjoyed tasting old sweets in our History lesson this week. We looked at what Granny spent her pocket money on! We then compared this to our favourite sweets.

Class 3 enjoyed making their own moving picture as part of their DT project. We really enjoyed making these!

Team building - class 3 worked together to create their own towers using marshmallows and spaghetti

We have loved reading all of your brilliant songs this week, as well as watching you perform them at home. Well done Class 3

Class 3 have been thinking about people who are special to them. We spoke about what makes someone special.

Art - Today we made created our own paper collage using different types of paper!

WC 7.12.20 Santa, his elves and the reindeers visited school today! WOW

1.12.20 In Science, Class 3 enjoyed researching about different Arctic animals! We used the iPads and books to help us find out where they lived, what they eat and how they keep warm!

23.11.20 Class 3 enjoyed following instructions to make their own pirate hat!

16.11.20 This week in maths we have been using number lines to solve word problems using addition!

9.11.20 Class 3 tried different fruits to see if we liked them or not as part of our DT project where we will be making a fruit kebab for a fussy eater! We tried watermelon, kiwi, plum, blackberries and mango. The children scored them out of 3! 1 - did not like, 2 - ok and 3 - liked it! I think you can tell from the children's faces if they liked the fruit or not.

2.11.20 Class 3 have been learning about greater than and more than. We used the hungry alligator to help us!

19.10.20 Following instructions to make a witch's brew! Can you remember what ingredients we used? YUCK!

12.10.20 Class 3 will be learning about sharing and halving this week. Today we have been sharing equally between 2 and 3 people.

5.11.20 Class 3 did some fantastic art work inspired by Kandinsky! We used different colours to create our own version of 'colour studies'. Well done Class 3!

28.09.20 Class 3 have been busy creating their own illustrations for the story, Cinderella. We have been using the iPads to do this! The children have done a lovely job. Well done Class 3!

21.09.20 Class 3 have worked super hard this week practising taking away amounts. We have used ten's frames, counters and pictures to help us solve some tricky calculations!

14.09.20 Class 3 enjoyed our art lesson today all about mixing colours. We spoke about the 3 primary colours and mixed them to make secondary colours! We then used them to create our own tie dye napkins by dipping them in coloured water.

7.9.20 Class 3 have been learning about places they visit often and rarely. We worked with a partner to talk about where we go and what we like about it.



Class 3 have had a lovely first week in school. We have found out lots about each other and have made some super art work! The children have also showed off their fantastic writing and have written some sentences about The Rainbow Fish. Well done Class 3!
