We enjoyed measuring dinosaur footprints this week using different measuring tools. We used metre sticks, cubes, tape measures and each other to measure different footprints.
We hope you had a lovely break and are ready for our final term in reception! Our classroom has been transformed to match our new topic 'Dinosaurs'! This term the children will be learning lots about dinosaurs that lived 1000 of years ago! Their learning will continue to be based around books and this term they will include: Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs, How to Grow a Dinosaur and Dinosaurs love underpants!
This week we have been busy following instructions, writing lists and writing a set of instructions on how to grow a plant. Here we are planting our own seeds. We will take good care of them and look after them at home!
This week we have been learning about jungle animals and how they blend into their environment. We spoke about animals that are camouflage!
Reception have had lots of fun with Freddy Fit! We have been practising our jumping and keeping our balance. We talked about our hearts and what happens when we exercise. We also spoke about how much water, fruit and vegetables we should eat every day!
We have had such an exciting week this week as we have had a special delivery. At the start of the week we had eggs arrive in reception. We now have 9 little chicks! The children have loved watching them hatch and change. We cant wait to hold them and carry on looking after them next week.
This week reception have been learning how to use the BeeBots by giving them different instructions. They worked in pairs and took turns.
The children have enjoyed exploring 2D shapes this week. They have taken part in lots of activities!
This week the children have been learning about instructions. We helped Prince Charming make jam sandwiches for the party. The children followed instructions to make jam sandwich and ordered instructions.
Today the children came back from dinner to find the treasure chest filled with lots of exciting things! We spoke about what it could be and who could have put it there? We then opened it to find a letter from Cinderella and Prince Charming asking for our help. They are having a special ball to celebrate Prince Charming's birthday and need our help to get things ready. We made a list of all of the things we need to make for the ball. The children are all so excited and can't wait to get busy making things!
Class 1 went on the computers today to create their own patterns. We used the paint program on 2Simple and picked our own colours using the mouse.
