Learning and News

The Great, The Bold and The Brave

This term's topic is all about The Romans and World War I. We will travel back in time to discover how the Roman Empire grew and the battles that took place in Britain. We will learn about the changes that the Roman's made in Britain and how they can still be seen today. We will then link this to the changes in Britain during the First World War. Week commencing 15th October

This week we have been thinking about adjectives we could use to describe an alien. We then used them in expanded noun phrases. You can read some of our sentences by visiting our blog.



Week commencing 8th October


This week in music, we learnt to sing the African song, ‘Kwaheri’ and identified the rhythms used. We then practised playing the melody of the song on tuned percussion, using the pentatonic scale, FACDE.

This week we have taken part in science and Gamelan music workshops and voted in the school council elections.

We even won the Reading at Home Award this week! Well done Class 10!



Monday 17th September

We had another visit from Freddy Fit today. We played some team games and worked on our communication skills.

Friday 14th September

What a great week we've had. In maths, we've been learning about the place value of 4 digit numbers and how we can partition them in different ways by exchanging. In our spelling lesson, we worked together to match root words to their definitions before adding prefixes.
